Owl Birthday Cake

This 3 tier cake features the bottom 2 tiers covered in blue buttercream with tree branches piped in chocolate buttercream.  The 3rd tier was carved into an owl shape and the little cake was covered in fondant feathers.  The owl's face and all the flowers were also made with fondant.  For some sparkle, I added edible glitter to the flowers and to the owl's feet and beak.

Dora the Explorer Waterfall Birthday Cake

This 2 tier cake was covered in lime green fondant with piped buttercream details (grass, vines, dirt) and a blue buttercream waterfall.  Fondant letters, flowers, butterflies, balloons and presents were then added.  The number "2" was molded out of chocolate.  The palm trees on top were molded from fondant as well.  Noticeably absent are Dora and her friends, which were little figurines that were added later by the client.  This design could be used for lots of different characters.  So bright and fun!

Toy Story Cupcakes for Girls

I know I've posted my Toy Story cupcakes before, but I thought these turned out cute as a slightly more "girly" version of the popular design.  All characters were hand drawn and cut from fondant.  They were placed on cupcakes frosted in pink and purple.

Cal Poly Pomona Graduation Cake Collins School

This was another grad cake that I had made for my cousin who graduated from the Collins College of Hospitality Management program at Cal Poly Pomona.  The cake design was loosely based on the Cal Poly logo (white and green with a leaf).  Each side of the cake had different messages piped on in black with other logos: the school restaurant logo, the Hyatt hotels (with whom she's accepted a job offer) and   Texas (the place she moved to for said job).  The top of the cake was an architectural structure located on the Collins School campus (made with fondant and wire).  All details were molded from fondant and the logos were all hand drawn with edible markers on fondant.  Cake was champagne orange with vanilla custard and cookies & cream cake with chocolate custard.

Bubble Guppies Mini Cake

This mini cake is the perfect size for a pint-sized birthday girl!  The 4" round cake was covered in blue buttercream icing with piped seaweed and coral.  Nerds candy was added to the bottom edge for rocks.  A molded chocolate number "1" tops the cake, along with 3 characters from the popular Nickelodeon cartoon.  The characters were all hand cut and hand drawn on fondant.

This fondant cake was for a pool side 7th birthday party.  The sides of the cake were covered in panels of fondant that were textured like brick.  The top of the cake was covered in gray fondant with stone texture with stone coping also in fondant.  The pool was topped with a sparkly blue piping gel.  The kids and accessories were all hand molded from fondant, and the flowers and vines were piped in buttercream icing.
