Wedding Wednesday, Shells & Starfish

Wedding of W&B at Salt Creek Beach, Dana Point. This 2-tier fondant cake was studded with candy pearls and white chocolate shells, starfish and sand dollars. Decorative blue coral pieces were added on site along with edible "sand" and the couple's cake topper. The flavor...champagne orange with a vanilla whipped mousse filling.Yes please, I definitely do!

Coach Purse Cake and Cupcakes





 This purse shaped cake was created by sculpting the cake underneath and adding coral colored fondant.  The leather details were molded from fondant with stitching details.  The logo, zipper and metal rings were painted with edible gold luster.  The logos were made using a homemade mold for gum paste.

Build A Bear Birthday Cake






This 2 tier fondant cake was topped with a teddy bear shaped out of rice cereal treats and covered with chocolate buttercream fur.  Buttons and clothes were added to the base cake with bright colored fondant .

3D Elmo Sesame Street Cake





This fun cake was made starting with a square cake tier at the bottom which was covered in fondant and decorated like a present.  The box was topped with arms and a neck formed in rice cereal treats.  The second cake tier was carved into a round shape and added on top of the cereal treats.  Elmo's head, chest and arms were then covered in red buttercream fur, which was piped on by hand.  His eyes, nose and mouth were all created in fondant and added to his furry red face.  The sign was cut from fondant and the lettering piped on with white buttercream.

Teapot and Table Cake





Single tier cake was covered with a textured fondant "tablecloth" and topped with the teapot and teacup.  The teacup was a cupcake wrapped in fondant and topped with piping gel "tea".  The teapot was 2 mini cakes stacked and wrapped in fondant with a fondant spout and handle.  All flowers and gold details were hand painted on both pieces.

Noah's Ark Baby Shower Cake & Cupcakes






This rainbow-studded baby boy shower featured a small sculpted cake and matching cupcake tower.  The cake was covered in textured fondant with five pairs of hand-molded animals in bright colors.  The cupcakes were topped in baby blue icing and matching animal toppers.  The cake and cupcakes were nicely displayed on our custom white cupcake tower.  We also brought the plate of chocolate truffle "glitter pops" in six bright rainbow shades of edible glitter to complete the beautiful dessert table.

Elmo Mini Cake and Sesame Street Cookies




Mini (6") cake was covered in white buttercream and topped with a half dome shaped cake which I covered in red icing "fur".  Sign and facial details were cut from fondant and added to the cake.

Matching sugar cookies were cut in circles and topped with bright colored icing glaze.  Facial features were added with fondant and edible markers.

Fitness / Yoga Mat 40th Birthday Cake




This single tier cake was covered in beige fondant that was textured to resemble bamboo flooring and brushed with cocoa powder for accent.  The cake was topped with 4 cupcakes rolled together in textured fondant for a yoga mat.  The kettle bell weight was molded from fondant and gum paste and stamped with a "40" for the fortieth birthday girl.  Fitness + Cake = Delicious!

Optimus Prime Transformers Cake





This sheet cake was "transformed" into the semi-truck/robot character.  The cake was covered with fondant and the details made from cut fondant.  Logos were hand drawn.  Shading and silver sheen were added over the top with an airbrush.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Cake



Yep, it's cake.  Vanilla cake split in half, then filled with strawberry filling and peanut butter cream cheese icing.   This one was for my husband...and very delicious!  Fun for the PB&J lover in your life.

Monster Truck Grooms Cake





This sculpted cake was designed using photos of the groom's actual truck.  All stickers and logos were hand drawn with edible markers.  Tires were molded fondant around Oreo cookies. All truck details were molded in fondant.  Graham cracker dirt was added under the wheels.

Yo Gabba Gabba DJ Lance Cake




Rounded cake was topped with orange buttercream and brown fondant to resemble the Yo Gabba Gabba host.  Other details were molded in fondant and the sign cut from gumpaste and hand-drawn.

Travel Themed Bridal Shower Cake





This cake was covered in textured fondant with fondant leather and brass details.  Vintage travel stickers representing the bride-to-be's travels were hand drawn with edible markers.  Gold dragees and a gumpaste suitcase handle were also added.  The luggage tag was stamped and color added to the letters.
