Wedding "Cupcake Cantina"

This fun-loving couple chose to serve a variety of mini cupcakes for their wedding reception at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano.  For their special fiesta, they chose mini cupcakes in 10 flavors:  Chocolate chocolate chip, vanilla, red velvet, maple bacon, margarita, carrot, moscato, mud pie, pumpkin pecan, and salted caramel.  All the sweet treats were displayed on our antique style cake stands in bronze, gold and Tiffany blue. For the bride and groom, I made a simple 6" round cake for cutting, topped with lifelike sugar succulents.  Que delicioso!

Lovebirds Wedding Cake

3 tier square cake was covered in ivory fondant and decorated in all white.  Gumpaste birch trees were hand molded and added to the top and bottom tiers, along with a couple of smaller birds.  The middle tier was highlighted by piped ferns and scrolls with a pearl fondant stylized fern branch.  The ferns and scrolls were repeated at the top of the cake where two little lovebirds sat.  The birds were hand molded in gum paste and brushed with pearl white luster.  The feathers of each bird were also highlighted with a touch of color luster dust (hot pink and teal) to tie in to the colors of the wedding.  The pretty tree trunk cake stand was provided by the client.
